Program:
meeting of the participants with the guide in the agreed
place and beginning of the excursion. The first part consists
in a panoramic tour in coach during which the Renaissance
Doors, the Castle, the Scaligeri’s
bridge, the Gavi’s arch, the Roman Door, the roman
bridge and theatre, the exteriors of several churches
and high panoramic visit of the city can be seen. Continuation
on foot in the old city where it is possible to visit
the court of Juliet with the famous thirteenth-century
balcony. Walk along Piazza delle Erbe, famous for its
market and the Scaligeri’s tombs, placed near the
Romanesque church of Santa Maria Antica. The tour continues
until Brà square, heart of the modern city life. |
In the afternoon visit to the basilica of Saint Zeno Major,
in Romanesque style, rebuild in XII century over the tomb
of the first Verona bishop. Inside numerous frescoes and
the famous triptych of Mantegna can be admired. Continuation
to the Arena, a roman amphitheatre dated I century A.D.(It
is possible to reserve visits of group to the arena and
to acquire tickets for the several theatrical manifestations).
Visit and end of excursion. Possible extension on the
