Isola della Scala
Fortified village of the tenth century, has been transformed from strategic reference in the medieval period to one of the most important centre for the production of the rice.

Program:

meeting of the participants at 9.00 and encounter with the guide in Buttapietra at 10.00. Departure to the visit to the rice-fields and visit to Zambonina (it is an optimal example of rural court transformed in villa on 1700). Continuation then for villa Pindemonte in Vò di Isola della Scala (external view). Visit
and lunch at Pila Vecia di Ferron, place that still conserves the old rice pile, used still today for the husking of rice with the traditional old system (it dates back to 1650). In the afternoon visit to the Romanesque church
of Bastia (XII-XV) or in alternative to Saint Stephan Abbey. At 17,00 end of the visit and return to the departure place.

Soave
Village of roman origin and developed subsequently by Longobards, it is the better conserved medieval fortification in the Verona area.

Program:
in the morning meeting of the participants in the agreed place and subsequently meeting with the guide. Departure for Soave, colourful
medieval town entire encircled from battlemented walls, divided in 24 towers, lapped on by the river Tramigna.
In the morning visit to the castle that was yielded to the city of Verona by a feudal family. The castle grew more and more of importance until the times of the Republic of Venice. Lunch with typical menu.

In the afternoon visit to the historical centre where various palaces can be admired, such as Earls Sambonifaccio Palace, XIII century, Earl Cavalli Palace dated 1411, the justice Palace and the commander Palace, 1375;
the Pollici Palace, XV century, Ippolito Nievo’s house, Earl Moscardo Palace, XVII century. It will be able moreover to admired Saint Laurence Dome, martyr in 1303, the churches of S. George, S.Maria di Monte Santo of Dominican friars, 1443; S.Rocco, XV century; S. Antony, 1667 and the Sanctuary of Saint Mary Bassanella, I century. Some of the aforesaid palaces and churches could be visited only outside. Others could be visited inside too. Every group will be able to come to an agreement with the guide based on the own preferences and tastes in order to create
a personalized route. End of the excursion and return to the departure place.
