The maritime city of Chioggia is
developed in a peninsula that separates the Brenta valley,
the lagoon of Venice and the Adriatic. It is the most
ancient and populous lagoon centre after Venice and one
of the greatest Italian fishing ports. In the vicinity,
Sottomarina is an important Venetian seaside resort.

Programma:
Meeting of the participants in Chioggia for the encounter
with the guide. Beginning of the visit to the small town
called “Little Venice”.
Taking a walk for the city it will be able to be admired
the palaces that overlook on the channel Vena and continuation
along Corso del Popolo.
Visit at the market of the fish, to the Dome and continuation
for the port in order to admire the characteristic boats:
the "Bragozzi”. Lunch in Chioggia with typical
menù. |
Departure with the motor-ship for the
excursion to Pellestina. Visit to the village of the fishermen
with the typical colourful houses where still today women
embroider laces by hand. After approximately 30 minutes
of
pause, departure for the port of Chioggia, crossing the
mouth of the port, and if the time concurs it, it is possible
a short escape in opened sea in order to admire the splendid
Sottomarina beach, one of the deepest of
Europe and richest of iodine. Return with berthing to
Chioggia. |

sea with the typical fishing boats. It will
be possible to assist or to take part to the fish
harvesting with the nets or the hook. |
