The fortification rises on a ridge
of the Prealps in Cison di Valmarino (Tv) and dominates
the terminal part of the valley from Vittorio Veneto to
Follina, anciently called Valmarena.

From 1200 to 1300, it was possessed by the
Bishops of Ceneda in order then to pass to Caminesi. In
1436 it passed to the Venetians that granted the feud
to commanders Erasmo da Narni called Gattamelata and Brandolino
Brandolini. The last one became the first Earl redeeming
it from Gattamelata. On 1500 and 1700 were made extension
works.
In 2001, after important restorations and extension works,
the work has been reopened to the public; the castle has
been transformed in a convention centre with annexed hotel
and restaurant. |
Castelbrando offers the possibility to
its visitors to relax themselves in its wellness centre,
to organize particular dinners (job’s and not),
conferences and conventions, exposures, particular events,
cultural, natural and wine & food routes.
