Cansiglio Wood |

Programma:
at 9.00 encounter with the companion to the motorway exit
Cadola. At 9.30 panoramic walk on the beach of Saint Cross
lake, one of
the larger lakes of Veneto. The morning will continue
with the crossing of woods and villages that still conserve
historical and architectonical characteristics, typical
of the alpine area. The Cansiglio wood will be
reached, the second one for largeness in Italy. Visit
of the Botanical Alpine Garden, that collects approximately
500 species of plants in the area Cansiglio-Cavallo and
the Ecological Zanardo Museum that conserves inside numerous
naturalistic finds regarding the plateau. 13.30, lunch
in a mountain farm holiday situated in the wonderful Cansiglio
plan. |
At 15.30 visit to a cimbrian village and to the typical
casoni with structure in wood and stone, covered by boxes
made in pinewood. At 16.30, visit to the ethnographical
Museum. A special route that follows the evolution of
the exploitation of the woody resources by
the man, will allow us to understand the historical importance
of Cansiglio, from the complex aspects inherent the long
Venetian domination to the Cimbrian settlement. At 18.00,
pause in order to admire the curious house of the book,
an original wood construction in Tambre. Return and end
of excursion. |
